THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tuesday accused the federal government of plotting to pick up its national leaders in a bid to weaken their morale ahead of the 2019 elections.
The party also fingered Buruji Kashamu, the lawmaker representing Ogun East Senatorial District of working hand in glove with the All Progressives Congress, APC-led government to distract members of the PDP National Working Committee from carrying out their mandate.

Addressing journalists at the party’s headquarters Tuesday, PDP spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan accused the government of President Muhammadu Buhari of procuring a warrant of arrest “from a compromised judicial officer,” which it intends to use to pick up leaders of the party in the days ahead.
This morning, the federal government in conjunction with an expelled member of our party, Senator Buruji Kashamu started procuring a warrant of arrest on the leadership of the PDP. We are aware that a warrant has been procured from a compromised judicial officer to arrest the leadership of the PDP.
“We are the custodian of our party rules and regulations and we are determined in line with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on how we run our party and the decisions we take as the leadership of the party. As such, any attempt by any unscrupulous Nigerian to seek to destroy our party would be totally resisted,” he warned.
But reacting to the allegation, Senator Kashamu said he was yet to go to court to challenge his expulsion, wondering how the PDP came about his procurement of a warrant of arrest on its leaders.
