EMINET personalities, including traditional rulers and Islamic clerics, last week gathered in Erio Ekiti, Ekiti State to witness the official commissioning of Dawha Centre, a multipurpose centre for Islamic activities.

The centre, which was the first of its type in the community, was donated by the Chief Idris Oladiran.

During the commissioning, Oladiran said the gesture, which was dedicated to his late parents was to further encourage learning and teaching of Islamic education in such a way that the religion would be enhanced and propagated.

His words: “This is one of the ways through which we can propagate Islam in our community and I am confident that the centre would be properly used for the purposes it is meant for.

While assuring the Muslim community of the kind gesture, the Balogun of Erio also pledged not to relent in his commitment to ensuring a steady growth and development of the community.

In his brief remarks, the Chief Imam of Erio, Sheik Musa Badmus, described the gesture as a timely venture, which according to him, was acceptable to Almighty Allah, saying “This is highly commendable coming at a time when the need to teach the young children and adults about Islam and the need to further promote it as a religious of peace.

He however, prayed for the repose of the souls, which the centre was dedicated to, and increased blessings for the donor and his entire family.

Also, the Elerio of Erio, Oba Johnson Bamigbade (Okiji III) who led other traditional rulers to the event, congratulated Muslim community in Erio and urged them to make good use of the centre, especially in promoting of peace and harmony.

Special prayers were, however, offered for Nigeria, Ekiti State and also, for quick economic recovery of the nation.
