RISING from a meeting in Kaduna Thursday, 17 groups supportive of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have said that they would organise a one million man-march in support of Sen. Ahmed Makarfi, faction of the PDP.
The groups under the banner of PDP National Integrity Group, and PDP National Solidarity, accused Sen. Modu Sherif, a factional leader of the PDP, of being used by the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC to destroy the PDP.
The groups’ Chairman, Hon. Rilwanu Abdulahi, a former Chairman of Kaduna North Local Government Area, LGA, said they were sure that only Makarfi could stabilise the party.
He said: “A joint meeting of our groups from all the six geo-political zones at a meeting and discussed and reviewed some socio-political issues in the country, especially issues that are of real and significant interest concern our great party, the PDP.
“The meeting also reflected on the recent press conference addressed by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff’s group which drew the anger of our groups and the entire membership of the party.
“We distance ourselves, our groups and most members of our party from the antics of this dissident group.
“We are therefore, planning a one million-man march soon, to show the popularity of Senator Ahmed Makarfi in the PDP and to force Sheriff to stop his pranks. We shall avail you details later.
