The prestigious Mauve 21, Ring Road, Ibadan, was packed when the society’s bigwigs stormed the event centre to honour the Manchester-based international gospel singer and the wife of Oyo State House of Assembly PDP candidate, Honourable Yinka Omikunle, Bolaji Awoyemi Omikunle, popularly called Beejay De Grace, to celebrate her birthday and launch her new musical album, titled “Ore Ofe” (Grace)
Ibadan-based top Fuji musician Alhaji Akande Adebisi, popularly known as Taye Currency, was on the bandstand to usher in the celebrant, Mrs. Bolaji Awoyemi Omikunle, to the hall with his Fuji music lyrics.
The cutting of the cake was next in the programme, which was performed by the former deputy governor of Oyo State and national deputy Chairman, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, followed by the launching of her musical album titled; Grace (Ore Ofe) in which the national deputy chairman of PDP, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, donated hugely to support the dynamic gospel music singer.
Furthermore, Soji Olagunju, Hon. Stanley Olajide (Odidi Omo), representing the Ibadan South-West constituency and chairman of Pacesetter Transport Company, and Hon. Dare Adeleke donated handsomely to support the musical career of Bolaji Omikunle.
After launching, MC Taiwo Olusanya, popularly known as Obama, called the celebrant to the dance floor with the music of the popular Ibadan-based juju musician Yinka James (Adonai), who thrilled his fans at the occasion.
In an interview with the popular queen of the red carpet, Fola Slim, Beejay expressed appreciation to God for what He has done in her life and thanked all the dignitaries who graced the occasion.
Some of the dignitaries also showered encomiums on the celebrant and prayed for long life and prosperity.
Other dignitaries present at the occasion include Soji Olagunju, Honourable Akeem Ademola Ige, Primate Soji Bakare, Chairman of 4real Events Centre; Oke Champion, Chairman of Sugarland Hotel and Suites; Barrister Lukman Akinola, Soji Adegbite, Chairman of Oyo NUJ; Comrade Demola Babalola, and a host of others.
The celebrant, while thanking those who made the celebration a success, disclosed that the day would forever remain indelible in her memory and also prayed that God would continue to bless them.
“Your presence made the day unforgettable in my memory, as you all came out in large numbers to honour me. I pray that God will bless you all.
“I am imperfect, yet you love me with my flaws; you manage my shortcomings. I cherish and love you so much for attending my birthday celebration and album launch party, “Ore-Ofe” (Grace), and making it even more special. I pray the grace of our Lord God Almighty will always abide with you.”
Members of the celebrant’s extended family also turned out in large numbers to felicitate her.
