YAYA Toure faces a race against time to be fit for Manchester City’s Champions League clash with Dynamo Kiev and the Manchester derby after he was ruled out of this weekend’s journey to Norwich with a heel injury.

The influential Ivorian midfielder has scored twice within the final three games, in addition to clinching victory in the Capital One final towards Liverpool with the winning penalty in the shootout.

But Toure missed the following Premier League defeat at Liverpool with the heel downside, and manager Manuel Pellegrini revealed that he has now aggravated the issue.

The City boss hopes that relaxation will remedy the issue, but it surely stays to be seen if Toure recovers in time to play in Tuesday’s return with Kiev or at house to Manchester United every week on Sunday.

Yaya Toure has an issue together with his heel,’ stated Pellegrini. ‘He had the identical downside towards Liverpool which is why he could not play.

‘Yaya is out. We’ll see subsequent week how he’ll enhance. We do not know (if he’ll miss Kiev). It’s a ache in his heel.
‘Sergio (Aguero) had the identical downside a month in the past. If Yaya can relaxation slightly bit extra we hope that he can return sooner.’

With Tottenham not in motion until Sunday and Leicester enjoying Newcastle on Monday, Pellegrini hopes City can put pressure on the top two by winning at Carrow Road.

City has a game in hand on the leaders, but we are counting on them slipping up if they want to have an opportunity of winning the title from fourth place.

He added: ‘We do not rely simply on the work we will do. We can not have the identical factors as Tottenham and Leicester in the event that they win all their video games.

‘At least in the event that they win the title it is because they gained all their video games and not because we could not win ours.

‘We’ll concentrate on making an attempt to win at Norwich and then we’ll see the best way the opposite groups handle the stress between now and the tip of the season.

‘The most vital factor is that we do not have margin of error, and we have to win our video games.

If we win the following two video games within the Premier League the stress will probably be extra on the opposite groups. But we all know that we should win if we wish to proceed being concerned within the title to the very finish.’

City wanted a late penalty to beat Norwich 2-1 within the Premier League at house, and then gained 3-0 within the FA Cup at Carrow Road.

The Canaries have lost nine of their last ten matches in the league, but Pellegrini is refusing to treat anything as a right.

He added: ‘When you will need to play towards groups in relegation positions, it is always very tough because they do not have a lot to lose.

‘They should attempt to win their factors particularly at house so I’m certain we are going to discover them a really tough staff. It will probably be a compelling recreation if we wish to win the three factors.

‘We will play our strongest staff towards Norwich and then we see what’s the finest beginning XI towards Kiev.

One of the worst issues we will do is to assume we will qualify for the following stage of the Champions League.
