WOLFSBURG’s Victor Osimhen has expressed eagerness to stake a place in the Nigeria U20 squad.
The Flying Eagles face Burundi in May for a place in the 2017 Africa U20 Cup of Nations billed for Zambia.
And Osimhen – topscorer at the 2015 U17 Fifa World Cup, who joined the national team on Tuesday at their Serob Legacy Hotel camp expressed his enthusiasm to show the coaches his abilities.
“l am here to show the coaches what I can do. I have trained very hard to be here and just want to play football,” Osimhen told media.
Coach Emmanuel Amuneke and his technical crew continue to trim the over fifty players in camp ahead of the encounter against Les Hirondelles dans la guerre. The first leg will hold in Bujumbura on the weekend of 20 -22 May.
Nigeria are defending champions of the tournament and they would be hoping to retain their title and also qualify for the 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup to be staged in South Korea.
