FIFA, through its ‘FIFA Forward Football Development program’, has agreed to increase its financial support for member associations and football development from $1.6million to $5million per four year cycle for each member association.
NFF, being a member, will now receive $750,000 per year for football projects such as competitions, pitches, and women’s football development.
Every association will also receive $500,000 per year for running costs in areas such as administration and governance.
According to a statement issued after the FIFA Development Committee meeting on Wednesday in Zurich, “FIFA will significantly increase financial support for football development, from USD 1.6 million to USD 5 million per four-year cycle for each member association. The confederations will now receive USD 40 million per four-year cycle, up from USD 22 million”
The world football body said the implementation of this monetary programme will begin June 1, 2017.
