FG Appoints New Acting DG For NTDC

IN what appeared dramatic and unprecedented, the Federal Government of Nigeria appointed two Acting Director-General for the apex tourism body in the country, the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC).

Following the removal of the former Director-General of the corporation, Mrs. Sally Mbanefo on November 30, Mrs. Sally Mbanefo, and the instruction for her to hand handover the affairs of NTDC to the next most senior officer, the Federal Government appointed the Director of Administration and Supply of the corporation, Mr. Boniface Eboka, as the Acting Director-General. Eboka resumed as the acting boss of the corporation Friday, December 2, 2016.

Less an a month, the Federal Government sacked the Mr Eboka and appointed yet another director in the corporation, Mrs. Mariel Rae-Omoh, to act in the capacity of the DIrector-General of the corporation.

The appointment of the new acting DG of the corporation was contained in a letter entitled, “Appointment as the Acting Director-General of NTDC”, signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Culture.

The reason for the replacement of the former acting boss of the corporation was not disclosed as at the time of publishing this story.

Until her appointment as the Acting Director-General of the corporation, Rae-Omoh was the Director, Hospitality Travel and Trade (HTT).

The former acting boss of the corporation, Eboka, according to a source close to the corporation, would revert to his directorship post.
