THE PDP candidate, Oseloka Obaze has flayed Willie Obiano administration for causing the flooding problem in the state capital, Awka.
He spoke after his convoy was forced to take an alternative route as heavy flooding took over Nibo Ring Road, Awka, making it difficult for road users to ply the road. Obaze regretted that instead of solving problems, that the Obiano government was rather compounding the problems of the state.
“The Nibo Ring Road in Awka is flooded due to government approved market project that blocked waterways. I wonder who approved the EIA (Enviromental Impact Assesment), if any. This is the evidence that the government is not working.”
Continuing, he attributed the problem to the Obiano government saying: “This problem was created by the current Anambra State government which issued licence for a market there subsequently blocking the drainage channel. Passing this route after a downpour has been a nightmare in the past three years with consequent losses. Government must solve problems not create them.”
