*One Aide Resigns, Others Plan To Follow Suit
HON. Rasaq Olubodun, Personal Assistant to the Minister of Communication, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, has resigned his appointment over unpaid salaries.
Olubodun was said to have written the minister through his lawyer, demanding 23 months salary arrears and other entitlements, which is about N10.5m.
But it was surprising that the minister failed to pay Olubodun as he received his own salaries on monthly basis.
His salary was said to have been paid alongside with that of the minister, which was stipulated in the minister’s appointment letter, when he was appointed in November 2015
Meanwhile, the intervention of some elders from Saki did not yield any positive result as a meeting convened at the Minister’s house in Aerodrome Estate to reconcile both ended in shouting match between him and the Minister.
Olubodun claimed that working with the minister which should be a thing of pride was otherwise as he and his family have been living on borrowing spree and begging for money from friends and family members to survive.
This aside, the minister is imminently facing other trouble as other aides are hell-bent on taking such step if the minister fails to address their own salary issue.
Efforts to reach the minister’s spokesperson, Victor Oluwadamilare, on the allegations, proved abortive as his mobile numbers were switched off as at press time.
