THE Oyo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Gubernatorial candidate, Seyi Makinde, has picked Rauf Olaniyan as his running mate for the 2019 governorship election in Oyo State.
Recall that Olaniyan was one of the 12 aggrieved governorship aspirants of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state.
It was revealed that Makinde and the leadership of the PDP had been desperately searching for, not just a Muslim but, a sellable candidate from the 10 local government areas in Oke Ogun geo-political zone of the state.
The ex Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, (OYSTROMA) boss is expected to be unveiled officially at a press conference in not too distance future.

Mega Icon Magazine reports that Olaniyan’s name has been submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
With Olaniyan’s emergence, the desire of the Oyo, Ibarapa, and Ogbomoso zones to produce the deputy governorship candidate of the state has been dashed.
It was also gathered that some names were suggested, but Makinde arrived at Olaniyan’s choice after consulting with far-famed indigenes of Okeogun.
