PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Ibrahim Tanko Muhammed as an acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), to replace Justice Walter Onnoghen.

He is the most senior judge in the supreme court.

The appointment, according to the president, was based on the request of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

Muhammed was sworn in a while ago at the statehouse, Abuja.
