…As Jibrin Promises A Greater State

OBARO Kabba and Chairman, Okun Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty Oba Solomon Owoniyi, has described Admiral Usman Jibrin as a man of high integrity and excellence.

Oba Owoniyi made the remarks while welcoming Admiral Jibrin, an All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship aspirant in the Saturday 16th November election in Kogi State, to his palace on Sunday.

While commending Admiral Jibrin for his courage in participating in the governorship election, Oba Solomon enjoined him not to forget the people of Okunland when he became the Governor of Kogi State.

“We need progressive-minded and excellent people who put the corporate interest of Kogi State above their personal interests to govern this great state. It is only through this that we can have a developed and economically buoyant state and great people.

“I have not to doubt that Kogi State is poised for speedy development in all ramifications with the likes of Admiral Jibrin at the helms of her affairs,” Oba Solomon noted.

The monarch then charged politicians in the state not to turn the state into a theatre of war in the search for power.

Admiral Jibrin, who, earlier in his speech, commended Obaro Kabba for his immense contributions t the development of the community, disclosed that he joined the Kogi State Guber race, “sight unseen, motivated then by a single, simple, powerful idea – that I might play a small part in building a better Kogi State.

“We all made this journey for a reason. It’s humbling. And I am so sure that you didn’t come here just for me, you came here because you believe in what this state can be.

“In the face of a politics and an administration that has shut you out of the dividends of democracy, that has told you to settle for the worse, that has divided us for too long, you believe we can be one people, reaching for what’s possible, building that more progressive and economically buoyant to union.

“It is of note that no leader rises above the collective intellect of his people. Any leader that cannot be approached and advised by his people cannot come out well. Such, unfortunately, is our situation today in Kogi State.

“This scenario created the need for us all to be involved in a rescue mission for posterity sake and to ensure that the present generation and the ones yet unborn see and enjoy the great Kogi State of the dream of our founding fathers.”

Admira Jibrin then gave glowing attributes to Hon. James Abiodun Faleke for his tremendous contributions to the political development of Kogi State

He noted that he is lucky to have many friends and military colleagues in Okunland prominent among whom is General Ibilaiye.

“In recognition of my respect and love for Okunland, I engaged the royal father’s son of Owe kingdom, Engr. Olushola George Olumoroti as the Director-General of my campaign team,” Admira Jibrin said.

The trip to Kabba is the first leg of Admiral Jibrin’s tour of the seven local government areas in the district, a continuation of his statewide tour ahead of the August 29th Primary election in the state.
