The Abuja-Keffi road was blocked for about six hours following the collision of Dangote Group trucks at Kugbo area in Abuja.
Not fewer than five three persons have been confirmed dead, while many others were seriously injured as at the time of writing this report.
The casualities in the accident, which led to heavy traffic in Kugbo, a suburb between Asokoro and Nyanyan, were moved to the hospital in a Road Safety ambulance.
Many people were still trapped in the trucks.
While some of the people trapped in the heavy traffic were emotional about the incident, sue to the many casualties recorded, others were discomforted as it delayed their movement.
“I’m supposed to resume work by 5.00 pm, but this incident has made me late, that I’m not too sure if my Lebanese boss would allow me to work today. I just pray it wouldn’t less to my dismissal from the work,” Peace Leonard said.
Another passenger simply called Chucks charged the Nigerian government to provide a separate road for the trailers and truck, “so as to drastically reduce the spate of accidents on the Nigerian roads.
