It was all accolades and eulogizing at the Pavilion Hall Federal University Oye Ekiti as they celebrated the appointment of Prof. Rasaki Ojo-Bakare, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Arts, Culture and Tourism.
The event was graced with the presence of the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Kayode Soremekun; Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ojo; Director-General, Ekiti State Council of Arts and Culture, Amb. Wale Ojo Lanre; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Titilope Ganiyu; Deans of various departments, H.O.D and other members of the institution.
Prof. Soremekun in his opening remarks described Ojo-Bakare as a distinguished individual, an achiever and above all God-fearing.
He admonished the students present to emulate the characteristic attitude of Ojo-Bakare and thrive with hard work and focus to get their desired goals.
He highlighted some of the achievements of Ojo-Bakare and encouraged him not to rest on his oars and continue his good works in his sojourn in politics.
The Honorable Commissioner, Prof. Rasaki Ojo-Bakare in his response said he is short of words to describe the love shown to him.
He thanked God for the people that God used to facilitate his accepting to come down to Federal University Oye Ekiti.
He narrated how he had to leave his comfort zone in Abuja & come down to an unknown destination, the sacrifices he had to make and the achievements recorded. He made a solemn pledge to remain upright and keep up the good work.
