Makinde Won’t Pay Lip Service To Promotion of Arts, Culture, Tourism – Ige

Hon Akeem Ademola Ige, Special Adviser on Arts, Culture and Tourism to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has assured stakeholders in the industries of improved commitment that will enhance the development of the sectors.

The former member of Oyo State House of Assembly, said, unlike the previous administration, the present government is poised to transform the sector for economic development and job creation.

Hon Ige, in a chat with ReportersAtLarge, said, Governor Makinde understands the import of Tourism and promised that the sector will not suffer neglect under his administration.

“Part of his agenda is to diversify into other sectors that can generate income and jobs for our teeming youths and he said Agriculture and creative industry, tourism were his targets,” Hon. Ige said.

He maintained, his office will synergize with stakeholders in the sector to enhance rapid development and economic benefit.

“Very soon we will embark on an assessment tour of all the tourism sites in the state and see what we can to do to improve on and bring in private investor for immediate development.”

Hon Ige, however, appealed to the stakeholders in the sector to corporate with the government in creating an enabling environment for their businesses to thrive.
