Distinguished Senator Buhari AbdulFatai has urged the Federal Government to name the Ibadan Airport after the late Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
He stated this today while moving a motion on the demise of Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
While eulogizing the late Governor, Senator Buhari AbdulFatai stated the several feats Ajimobi recorded both in private and public sectors. He reminded the Senate that due to Ajimobi’s transformational achievements, he was the first Governor to serve two terms in office.
Contributing to the motion, Senator Ibikunle Amosun remembered how both Senator Ajimobi and himself met while the former was at National Oil and both of them later became Governors of Ogun and Oyo States respectively between 2011-2019.
All the (3) prayers contained in Senator Buhari AbdulFatai’s motion were adopted by the Senate.
The prayers are: to observe a minute silence in honour of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, send a high powered delegation to commiserate with his family, the Oyo State Government and the good people of Oyo State, and uurge the Federal Government to name the Ibadan Airport after him
