A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Dr. Yunus Akintunde, has felicitated Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III on the occasion of the monarch’s 82nd birthday.
Akintunde, who was a Commissioner for Works and Transport in the state, said he is proud to have come from Oyo where Oba Adeyemi has been reigning for close to 50 years.
According to him, “Today marks the 82nd birthday our father, Iku Baba Yeye, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III.
“As your son, I have witnessed first-hand the level of intellectual dexterity you bring to fore in resolution of disputes and conflicts.
“The level of development in our town is a testament to how successful your reign as the Alaafin of Oyo has been.
“You are an uncommon monarch who makes decisions only when they will be beneficial to the majority of the populace.
“Your drive for development in Oyo and beyond is unwavering. As a politician, I have benefitted immensely from your wisdom and I am proud to say I have never regretted taking any step you advised me to take.
“Kabiyesi, as you add another age to your years on earth today, I pray you live for many more decades in unabated health and unending wealth,” Akintunde added.
