The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr John Kayode Fayemi has disclosed his determination to engage youths in Ekiti at development and enhancement of the cultural-tourism potentialities of Ekiti State.
Dr Fayemi, who made this disclosure while presenting and submitting the 2021 Budget of Ekiti State to the Ekiti State House of Assembly yesterday said that his government would strategically stoke the culture and tourism sector for the empowerment and employment of the youths in the state.
He revealed that Ekiti State would make responsible giants strides in the tourism sector not only as a sector for the generation of revenue but essentially for the employment of thousands of youths in the state.
Governor Fayemi said that Ekiti state would engage and empower the youths in purposeful tourism trade and skill acquisition for self-employment and vision actualization.
In a release made available to Reporters At Large by Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Fayemi on Tourism Development, Governor Fayemi said at he would not only drive the tourism development of Ekiti State with an absolute resolution for empowerment, employment and revenue generation but also that Ekiti youth would anchor the marketing, branding and promotion of the tourism asset of Ekiti State.
He revealed that Ekiti State has embarked on auditing and profiling of the tourism potentialities in the state with the view of enhancement of the very notables ones for the reaping of the low hanging fruits by tourists and people of Ekiti State.
Governor Fayemi disclosed that Ekiti youths are not only partners in the mission of planting tourism as a vibrant economic venture in the state but they are the main drivers of such an intergenerational sector which needs regular patronage and mass traffic.
