Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello said former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in good faith.
Bello putting paid to speculations while addressing a crowd of APC supporters as seen in a video on social media said: “Our brother and friend, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has joined our party in good faith.
“He’s joining our party to add his own positive energy and make contributions into ensuring that APC is a party to beat.”
The Kogi State Governor also pointed out Fani-Kayode is one of the foundation members of the APC.
Reporters At Large recalls that Fani-Kayode on Monday met with the National Chairman of the APC, Governor Mai Buni of Yobe State and Governor Bello. This fuelled speculation he was on his way back to the party.
Meanwhile, Fani-Kayode, on his Twitter account on Tuesday, said the focus of his controversial meeting with leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was to discuss pressing national concerns, party politics and host of affairs he will not mind partaking irrespective of his allegiance to the PDP
Fani-Kayode in his explanation posted said “Despite the obvious benefits and wisdom in this noble initiative, it amazes me that some people should feel that it is wrong for me to sit with other leaders in the country to discuss issues which touch and concern the national cohesion, future and stability of our country.
“This is a time in which we must set all our differences aside, build bridges and come together as one lest our country drifts into fratricidal butchery and civil war.
“It is right and proper for us to talk and to attempt to join hands across political, religious and regional lines to save Nigeria.”
