The headquarters of Zone 13 of the Nigeria Police Force in Akwa, Anambra State, was attacked at about 4a.m., today, Monday, April 19, 2021, by unknown gunmen.
Though the details of the incident are still sketchy, Reporters At Large learnt that two operatives, an Inspector, identified as Ishaku Aura and a police constable, Uzoma Uwaebuka, out of 54 personnel at the zone, became casualties, as they lost their lives.
The incident made the state Commissioner of Police, Monday Bala Kuryas, and men posted to the CP’s quarters to go to the scene immediately to assess the damages.
The Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Princess Nkiru Nwode, could not be reached at the time she was called for confirmation of the story, as she was said to be in a meeting with the Commissioner of Police.
