Develop Oyo Tourism To Generate Employments, Monarch Tells Government, Ufitfly

The Olowu of Owukuta, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adekunle Oyelude Makama has urged the destination management firm, the owner of Ufitfly brand to collaborate with the Oyo State government to develop many tourist sites in the state to attract foreigners which will generate employment for youths and enhance social-economic growth.

Oba Makama, who is one of the vibrant Monarchs in Osun State made this call while addressing newsmen during his courtesy visit to the Success House, the headquarters of Absolute Success Global Travel and Tours, the owner of the popular Ufitfly brand in Ibadan yesterday.

The monarch described Oyo State as a supposed tourism hub in Nigeria going by its numerous historical sites and rich cultural heritage of the old Oyo empire to the foundation of Yoruba history which will definitely attract additional revenue to the coffers of the state and boost employment opportunities for youths.

Oba Makama however congratulates Ufitfly over its certification by International Air Transport Association (IATA) to become a full Destination Management Company, saying “this development is an indication of your uprightness and professional diligence”.

When asked about the function of the kings in helping to secure the society, the monarch said the role of traditional leaders have been there for centuries, it has been embedded either written or unwritten is to foster peace, and to promote culture and to advise and formulate policies on how to harmoniously live together.

“We are meant to be cultural ambassadors. We were primarily assigned the responsibility of promoting culture and maintaining peace in our domain”, Oba Makama noted.
