A cultural and traditional group in Ipara Remo, Ipara Heritage Protection Council has called on the Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Dapo Abiodun, not to install Mr Taiwo Taiwo as the new Onipara pending the determination of the case on the stool which is pending before a court of competent jurisdiction.
In a new release made available to news men and signed by the Secretary of Ipara Heritage Protection Council, Mr Babs Awopeju, the group warned that “Governor Dapo Abiodun will be committing legal hara-kiri and judicial contempt if he installed Taiwo Taiwo as the Onipara when a case on the issue regarding the eligibility of the said Taiwo Taiwo to the throne of Onipara is on trial.”
The Group pointed out that “Governor Dapo Abiodun would be acting and slapping the nobility of the judiciary by making move to install one Taiwo Taiwo without waiting for dispensation of justice in a Suit of Summon initiated by Otunba Rotimi Onafadeji of Onafadeji and Onafadeji Chamber at High Court of Ogun State Sagamu, with SUIT N0: HCS/90 /2021 dated 15th day of February 2021 and signed by the Court Registrar, on behalf of Madam Adetimehin Gbowowa, Oloriebi Amororo Royal Family of Ipara Remo, Omooba Fatai Adeniji Sonola, Secretary Amororo Ruling House, Omooba Muyiwa Adeyemi, Principal member Amororo Ruling House, Omooba Alhaji Aruna Adewale Amororo, for themselves and on behalf of Amororo Ruling House of Ipara Remo, the court summoned Ogun State Governor and 10 others as defendants, contesting process of appointment of Mr Taiwo Taiwo”.
Ogun State government cannot claimed not to be in the knowledge having received and signed the Writ of summons on the subject before the frivolous approval.
Ipara Heritage Protection Council also alleged that “Apart from the fact that the case is in court, we want the Governor and the Attorney General, as well as the Ogun State Cabinet to know that all the documents submitted to the Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs by the cabal who want to lord a Non–Prince on the stool of Onipara are forged, doctored and obtained from the dubious quarters. Any installation of Taiwo Taiwo will not only damage the image of Gov Dapo Abiodun but will spill unwholesome traditional consequence on Ipara Remo.”
The group asserted “The emergence of Taiwo Taiwo is shrouded in brazen fraud, lies and forgery. This is masterminded by Dr Yemi Ogunbiyi as revealed from the leaked exchange of letters between him and Sir Dipo Onabanjo with able assistance from Hon Adebiyi Adeleye – the Special Assistant to the governor on political affairs and the Chairman of Remo North Local Government – Hon. Abiodun Somoye and his Secretary as willing tools, which were ever available to hatch the planned job as government officials, understandably to fight their political enemies within the APC in Remo North Local Government at the expense of our dear town Ipara Remo as political collateral compromise. It is an open secret that Mr Taiwo Taiwo has been selected against Chieftancy declaration rules, the ruling houses culture as well as lpara Remo traditions and thereby pulling political strings through the Special Assistant on political affairs Hon Adebiyi Adeleye to get the final approval from the state government.
Ipara Heritage Protection Council revealed that “We are reliably informed through our informant within their camp that there is a secret move to coronate Taiwo Taiwo on the 4 or 11 May, 2021″. The clandestine move is not only evil but an act which Governor Abiodun should not be involved for personal reasons, political expediency and cultural retribution”.
The group called the attention of the Governor to the salient and basic requirement guiding the selection of a new Onipara, “Apart from the fact that the application for approval should emanates from the ruling house, selected by properly constituted by Kingmakers and supported by consent from Akarigbo of Remo, all of which was not part of the document submitted for approval except the frivolous document signed by 3 (three) non-substantive kingmakers without letter of communication of the ruling house to both the Kingmakers and The local Government, were also missing in the application to the Ministry”. The ministry ought to know better, why the rush to give approval without proper documentation? We suspect foul play in such approval without undertone or vested interest. The Amororo Ruling Family did not give consent as the purportedly nominated candidate of Mr Taiwo Taiwo was not the name submitted to both the Kingmakers and Remo North Local Government. The above injustice should not be allowed to stand, and appeal to people of good conscience and Ogun State government to stop them of this blatant stealing and daylight robbery of the highest order, asserted the group.
The group also alleged that the clandestine move to subvert traditional, cultural dictates and transgenerational process of selecting Onipara is being bankrolled by one “Sunday Omo Eleweomo”, who is a wanted man with fraudulent business linkage in the US and one “Koya System” who the group alleged engages in a money laundering business on Rye Lane, South East, London. “We shall not hesitate to give their full names and their nefarious activities to the appropriate authorities both in US and UK respectively if they refused to back down in providing financial support to Mr Taiwo Taiwo”, the group concluded.
“We are revealing all these to the Government and the general public that, everything about the selection and appointment of Taiwo Taiwo is enmeshed in dark fraud, forgery, cold lies and criminal manipulations” Let the Attorney-General of Ogun State check the file as submitted for approval, if Mr Adesoji Adewuyi – the Director of Chieftaincy Affairs failed to do his work diligently due to monetary inducement and political pressure from Biyi Adeleye, he should do the needful as a legal expert.
The group wants to placed Governor Abiodun on record that the case is already in court and should wait for the outcome and at the same time appeal to his excellency not to be part or accessory to the flagrant rape and debasement of Ipara Heritage and its traditional process as relating to the enthronement of a new Onipara of Ipara”. the group pleaded.
