A civil engineer, Rotarian Jide Abiodun, has been installed the 40th President of Rotary Club, Ibadan West.
The installation of Abiodun as President for 2021/2022 Rotary Year, was held at the Rotary House, Quarters 570, Simeon Adebo Crescent, Iyaganku GRA, Ibadan.
Present at the colourful ceremony include Rot. (Prof.) Kayode Oyediran, a former Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan; Rot. Olayemi Olawale, who was the Special Guest of Honour; Rots. Abiodun Adeoti, Raji Olawale, Samuel Kolawole and Lanre Balogun.
Others are Elder Gabriel Olawole; Barrister John Adejumo and Mr. Kunle Odewoye.
Abiodun in his acceptance speech, lauded members for the confidence had in him to serve, assuring that he will do his best to administer the duties of office of President in a business like and diligent manner as well as in accordance with the constitution and bye laws of the club for its goodness.
He said, “I give thanks to Almighty God for the great opportunity given to me to serve as the 40th President of Rotary Club of Ibadan West. Also thank the Investiture Committee members led by Rotn Gbenga Runsewe and his members for making the Investiture a success. And also, the members of the Club for believing in me to pilot the affairs of the Club for Rotary Year 2021/2022 ( Serve to Change Lives).
“The theme for the Rotary Year is “Serve to Change Lives”, in our societies we need to make a difference no matter what, our lives should be an example to others by making the difference in our society.
“So I urged every member to be change-makerer anywhere we find ourselves. We must make things work.”
