Minister, Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has said that Nigeria is better off as one, united and indivisible country.
This is just as he thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for standing by the the people of Benin Kingdom and giving them the needed support to reclaim what was stolen from them several decades ago.
Akpabio stated this in his remarks at the Fifth Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Obama Ewuare 11, Oba of Benin and the Signing of Deed of Transfer of Cambridge and Aberdeen Bronzes, in Benin City, the Edo State capital, on Monday.
A statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Jackson Udom, quoted the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, as saying that ” the event of today is a very significant one. I am particularly delighted because your brother from the Emirate of Kano, the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness Ado Bayero, is here, which signifies the oneness and the unity of this country and the fact that Nigeria is better off as a United and indivisible country as signified by the two families”.
“Let me also congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari, because this is happening in his time. This shows that his various diplomatic shuttle is yielding results. Economically, in terms of Direct Foreign Investors (DFI) into the country and the return of the stolen bronzes,” he noted.
Earlier, the former Senate Minority Leader had a brief stopover at the private residence of the former deputy governor of Edo State, Lucky Imasuen, where he admonished his audience on the need to continually work for peace in the Niger Delta region for speedy development of the region and its people, particularly the youths.
