The Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin has paid a condolence visit to Iganganland on the death of Asigangan.

His first port of call was the personal residence of the late Asigangan of Igangaland, Oba Lasisi Olawuyi Adeoye at AUD Quarters, Iganga where he was received by the wife of the late Monarch, Olori Zenatu Jumoke Adeoye and some children

The Speaker said he was at the residence of the late Monarch to condole with the Olori, the family, the Chiefs of the ancient town and the entire people of Igangaland on the sad development as he was out of the country when the Oba died.

Hon Ogundoyin told the family of the late Oba that he did not know that he was seeing the Oba who attended his wedding ceremony in Ibadan for the last time.

“Olori, please accept my sincerest condolences on the passage to the great beyond of Oba Adeoye. Little did i know that his coming to Ibadan for my wedding ceremony would be the last time we would be seeing each other. Kabiyesi was like a father to me. He was always advising and praying for me. I will no doubt miss him so much. I was outside the country when Kabiyesi died. I pray to Allah to forgive his shortcomings as we are all humans, grant him the best abode in paradise and be with the family he left behind.” He prayed

The Speaker also had a brief meeting with the high chiefs of Igangaland led by Chief Agoro, Pa Salaudeen Kolawole where they informed him that the process of selecting the next Asigangan was on.

Meanwhile, the visit of the Speaker to Igangan equally afforded him the opportunity of paying homage at the palaces of traditional rulers across Ibarapaland, where he appealed to them to continue to work together towards uplifting the zone.

“I want to appeal to our monarchs to continue to meet and send their resolutions to the Government. This will assist us in coming up with a blue print for the development of Ibarapaland.”

He also assured them that with the Eruwa Farm Settlement which is about to take off, Ibarapaland will soon become the headquarters of agriculture and farming in Oyo State.

The Speaker maintained that with the awarding of Igboora to Iganga to Iwajowa road and the Ido/Eruwa road by Governor Seyi Makinde, Ibarapaland should expect more from this administration before the end of this tenure.

The Obas visited included the Olu of Igboora, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye (Asoroolu Ayinla 5th), Onidere of Idereland, Oba Kingsley Oyelami Aderoju (Onikola Olufji 2nd), Onilala of Lanlate, Oba Sunday Olusegun Bolawaye, Asawo of Aiyete Oba Emmanuel Ewuola(as in cloth) Okeniyi, Oba Olusanjo Ojo, Baba Aso of Iberekodo-Igbole, Oba Adedamola Badmus (Olu-Aso of Iberekodo), Oba Jinadu Fasasi (Oni Sagaun of Sagaun), Oba Samuel Adewuyi Olaleye (Onidofin of Idofin) and High Chief Mojofola Ajibode who is the Regent of Pako of Pako.

The Obas in their appeal requested for the completion of Igboora township stadium while they equally urged the federal government to help fix Abeokuta, Igboora, Iseyin Expressway.

They further enjoined the present administration to help address the problem of water scarcity in the zone.
