A renowned broadcaster, Alhaji Waheed Akintayo (a.k.a. Ilumoka presenter) has described the death of former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao Akala as a huge loss in the political space not only in Oyo State but Nigeria as a whole.
Waheed Akintayo stated this in a condolence message he personally signed and made available to newsmen.
While extolling the virtue of the late Governor, Waheed Akintayo who is a prominent member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and GSMist PRO in Oluyole Local Government, noted that Akala, his father’s political associate, was a good man with exemplary character worthy of emulation.
According to him, “Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao Akala was my father’s political associate. When he was Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government between 1999 and 2002, my father, late Alhaji Rafiu Akintayo was also the chairman of Oluyole Local Government area. Because of this, they were very close and shared many things together.
He was a good man. His humility and generosity are exemplary. I pray that his humble soul would find peace and rest with God. I also pray that God would comfort and console the family he left behind.”
Waheed Akintayo who extended his condolence message to Akala’s admirers and followers, enjoined them to take solace in his good deeds and the lives he touched while alive which are testimony to the selfless service to humanity he was known for.
