Ige’s Close Ally, Royal Jelad Emerges MODAN Chairman, Promises Support For Makinde Govt

A close ally to the Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, Alhaji Adebayo Ajani Jelili (a.k.a. Royal Jelad) has been elected as the new Chairman of Motor Dealers Association of Nigeria (MODAN), New Garage zone, Ibadan.

Alhaji Adebayo Ajani Jelili who is the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Royal Jelad Motors/Multi links limited, and Royal Jelad Oil and gas limited was elected at the association’s election held yesterday at New Garage, Ibadan.

He was declared winner by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Alhaji Mutiu Oloye (a.k.a. Arikutaku) having polled 64 votes to defeat his rival, Prince Idris Mufutau Adeloro who polled 62 votes.

While congratulating his friend on his emergence as the Chairman, Hon. Ige who is the Baameto Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland said that he was highly impressed with the way the association had conducted its election which is devoid of any violence or manipulation whatsoever.

According to him, it gives me great pleasure to be here to witness the election of this association today. From all indications, this election which was keenly contested as I observed, was free, fair, transparent and conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner.

I hereby congratulate my friend and close ally in person of Alhaji Adebayo Ajani Jelili (a.k.a. Royal Jelad) on his victory today. I am very proud of him and have no doubt in his ability to bring about the desired changes in the association.

This association is one of the associations that is very important to the Oyo State government because of its contributions to the state’s economy through transportation. I hereby urge members of this association to continue to support the government of Engr Seyi Makinde in his bid to deliver on all his promises.”

Hon. Ige who commended the spirit of comradeship exhibited by all the contestants during and after the election, implored them to join hands with the new executives of the association in order to succeed.

In his remark after the election, Alhaji Adebayo Ajani Jelili who could not hide his joy expressed profound gratitude to all members for electing him as their new Chairman, promising that he would ensure a better transformation in the association during his tenure.

The Chairman said that the association under his leadership will give maximum support to Engr Seyi Makinde administration because the governor has performed tremendously well in the State’s infrastructural development most especially in the area of road, education, health care services, security and improvement of state economy through prompt payment of workers’ salaries among others.

He said that he subscribed to Governor Makinde”s stance that Nigerians should elect only those who are young, energetic, vibrant and well educated in the next general elections, stressing that only those with these qualities will be able to proffer solutions to a myriad of problems confronting the country.

He solicited the cooperation of all members of the association for him and members of his executive in the task ahead of them.

Others who elected alongside the Chairman were Mr Waheed Ismaila -Task Force Commander, Mr Adeyemi Adeyemo – Provost marshal, Mr Buliaminu Akinola – Social Secretary, Adewale Idowu – Treasurer, Agarawu Jamiu – Financial Secretary and others.

The said election was witnessed by all past and present leaders of the association in Ibadan including Alhaji Kamarudeen Jayeola – the Babaloja and Chief Mrs Remi Akerele Iyaloja Motor Dealers Association, Ibadan branch.
