Founder, Spiritual head and Gran Imam, Shafaudeen in Islam Worldwide and the Mogaji OgunElu Aare Alaasa dynasty, Alhaji Prof. Sabit Ariyo Olagoke JP has described the ascension of High Chief Lekan Balogun into the stool of Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oyo State as an honour well deserved.
Olagoke felicitated with Balogun in a congratulatory message he personally signed and directed to the new monarch.
According to the letter: I write to extend to Your Majesty my sincere congratulations and best wishes on your appointment as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadan Land to the throne of your forefathers.
Whereas your appointment to ascend the throne of your forefathers is an honour well deserved, it serves to thrust upon you the responsibility of promoting and upholding the cultural values, traditions and heritage of the people of Ibadan Land.
I have implicit confidence in your capability to deliver on the mandate of the office and usher in prosperity and a peaceful reign to the people of Ibadanland.
Congratulations once again and be assured of my goodwill at all times.
Prof. Olagoke However charges the Olubadan not to mix tradition with politics so as to create more respect for the stool of the Olubadan.
“Your royal majesty, I sincerely wish to put on record that you use your experience from politics and tradition to separate the two institutions so that the respected image of the traditional stool will be retained”.
