The ambition of Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige to represent the Ibadan South-East/North-East Federal constituency at the green chamber of the National Assembly today further received more blessings as the entire members of the Community Development Council (CDC) in Ibadan North East Local Government unanimously assured him of their support for his aspiration.
This assurance was given when Hon. Ige visited the CDC members during their monthly meeting held at the Ibadan North-East function hall, in continuation of his consultation to all the leaders and stakeholders towards the realization of his ambition to represent the said federal constituency come 2023.
The meeting had in attendance the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo and some of his political functionaries and all the executive officers of the CDC in the said local government area.
Hon. Akintayo who had earlier received Hon. Ademola Ige and members of his team in his office appreciated Hon. Ige for the recognition he accorded him by visiting him in his office. He advised him to continue with his consultation and pray to God Almighty to grant his desire for the House of Representatives election.
The CDC Chairman Ibadan North East, Pa. Emmanuel Olanlokun Adeleke in his remark described Hon. Ige as a politician with an untainted blemish who has always been giving due respect and recognition to the entire communities under their association since he was a council Chairman.
Other members of the association who spoke in the same vein, Alhaji Daud Odelade, Alhaji Busari Faminu, Pa Lekan Olaniyan, Alhaji Hammed Yusuff, Alfa Mosobalaje, Alhaja Iyabo Eniola and Mrs Ogunyemi all noted that Hon. Akeem Ige has done wonderfully well for their association and that was the reason they will all support him if his party gives him a ticket for the election.
Speaking earlier, Hon. Bimbo Adepoju who is the Supervisory Councillor for Works, Ibadan South East Local Government and one of the PDP stakeholders hinted that it was he alongside other party stalwarts that asked Hon. Ige to come and contest because they have absolute confidence in his candidacy, adding that Ademola Ige is as an experienced and loyal party man that their constituency deserves to bring about effective representation and will not let them down.
Similarly, the immediate past Chairman of the Parents and Teachers’ Association in Oyo State Alhaji Moshood Oloruntoki described Hon. Ademola Ige as somebody who has been tested, trusted and reliable in all the political offices he has held so far. He added that as a former PTA Chairman in Oyo State, there was never a time that Hon. Ige was called upon for issues concerning the affairs of the students and their teachers that he will never attend to.
Earlier, Hon. Ademola Ige who is presently the Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Culture and Tourism had told the members of the CDC that the purpose of his visit was to intimate them of his desire to contest for the House of Representatives election to represent the said Federal constituency.
The ex-state lawmaker promised that if given the opportunity he would continue to partner with the communities in moving the federal constituency forward through law making which is aimed at improving the welfare of the people and influencing projects that will better the lots of his constituents.
He stressed that any politician who knows his onion will never underrate the political value of the community development associations as an integral part of the government and community development.
According to him, “I have come here to intimate you of my intention to represent you at the federal House of Representatives in 2023. I have had a very robust relationship with you since I was council Chairman. Your association is an important factor to be reckoned with by any politician or government who wants to succeed. No politician even if he or she gets the ticket of his political party can succeed without having your blessing and support. This is the reason why I have come to solicit your support and blessings for my aspiration.” He stressed.
Others who accompanied Hon. Ademola Ige on the visit include the Vice-chairperson of CDC in Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon ( Mrs) O.O. Oyetunji and some PDP executive officers in the said local government.
