Grassroots Leadership Centre, Abuja on Thursday awarded the excellent performances of outstanding Nigerian leaders from the South West geo-politicsl zone, who have contributed to the development of the Nigerian society in their various callings.
The organizers said the awardees were selected after a discreet investigation of their activities and achievements, while the recognition was targeted to serve as an incentive for them to do more.
Professor Wole Adedayo, chairman of Grassroot Leadership Centre Abuja while speaking at the event said the Award tagged “Footprints of Great Achievers” is to appreciate and recognize the recipients for their outstanding contributions to humanity and society at large.
According to him “The awardees were carefully selected after opinion pool and consultation within and outside the shores of Nigeria.”
Corroborating Adebayo’s claim, Amb. Wale Ojo-Lanre, SSA Tourism Development to Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, and a member of the team expressed the hope that the beneficiaries would continue to contribute their quota to the development of the society and Nigeria at large.
The awardee included Engineer Seyi Makinde, Oyo state Governor, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Dr Lekan Balogun, Former Governor of Oyo state Rasidi Ladoja.
Others include Professor Babajide Owoeye, founder of Lead City University Ibadan, Mayoress Abolanle Bada, Ikosi/Isheri LCDA. (Chairperson of the year Lagos State, Hon Ibraheem Akinsola Akintayo (Ibadan North East LG) Engineer Tunde Lawal.
The events were attended by Olori Olubadan Princess Balogun, Traditional Chief’s party Chieftains and others.
