Being a higher institution student is arguably the most interesting phase of a growing adult. Yes, you live with your parents, you have an apartment or a hostel, and you enjoy the freedom that no one can question.

Hence, while in school enjoying this privacy and freedom, students try out many things or, better still, wild things that their parents or sponsors must not know about, or else there would be trouble for the students.

This article discusses some of the many wild things students do in school that parents must not know about:

1. Throwing a House Party In A Place Far Away From School

Yes, the clean-up operation might take weeks, but most students living in rented houses or on university campuses throw or have a house party. There, students snub class, get the most prominent speakers possible, prep the perfect playlist, and send out invites. But students ensure their friends who snitch don’t know about it beforehand.

2. Practising Lesbianism And Gayism In School

Lesbianism and gayism are not Nigerian culture; hence, most parents are strongly against the principles of this practice. However, in school, a good number of the students find pleasure in lesbianism and gayism. Female students play with each other’s private parts and make love. At the same time, male students have sex with each other. Imagine, if a Nigerian parent hears about this; imagine the outcome!!’

3. Weekend Sleepovers At Opposite Sex’s House

Another vicious thing Nigerian parents must not hear about what their wards do in schools is abandoning their studies and abandoning their apartments and sleeping at the house of their respective lovers. This is common among most female students who leave school on Friday and crash at their boyfriend’s house over the weekend. This has become a norm for many female students in Nigerian tertiary institutions, and they are at maximum risk. There are reports of many students missing while sleeping at “strangers’” houses.

4. Drinking, Smoking And Clubbing

Outside of throwing a house party for celebrations, another wild thing students do is the regular Friday clubbing, where they party all night, smoking and drinking. Also, some students are fond of taking hard drugs like cocaine, heroin and other illegal drugs. While some are addicted to alcohol.

5. Pregnancy Out Of Wedlock And Abortion As a Clean Up

Female students get pregnant frequently for their respective boyfriends, a sequel to one of the weekend sleepovers! And to clean up the mess, they adopt the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) method of abortion by taking drugs and using hangers, spoons and other crude objects. If a Nigerian mother hears about this, be sure the child is in for big trouble. Many students have died while trying to abort unwanted pregnancies.

6. Having Sex For Grades Or Fun With Lecturers

This trait is most rampant among female students who willingly sleep with their lecturers to pass a particular course. However, some students date their lecturers, as they might not be interested in dating their fellow students.

7. Long Absence From Class

Some students do not attend classes, write tests, or take examinations to pursue careers in other fields. Many students drop out of courses and go for shows, auditions, or tours outside the country or the school location without their parents’ permission. If a Nigerian Dad knows about this, it is the end, believe me!

Conclusion

While the average Nigerian student will nod in agreement to the above exposition, some parents will chuckle retrospectively at the wild lives they led while on campus; the brains of some other parents will get busted imagining what their children could have or be engaging in far worse in schools!
