Tension enveloped Asaba, Delta State capital, following the partial collapse of a two-storey building at the multiple sports complex of the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, the Delta State capital, where some persons were reportedly injured.
The structure under construction ahead of the 21st National Sports Festival scheduled to hold at the stadium this year was recently inspected by the Minister of Sports and Youths Development, Sunday Dare, from November 28, reportedly collapsed around 10a.m.
Although, the cause of the collapse is yet to be ascertained it was learnt that it would not be unconnected to the rush of the construction to meet the deadline for delivery of the project for use.
Three persons reportedly died in the incident but the State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, said no one died but that three were injured.
