President Muhammadu Buhari said he has no desire to own a house outside Nigeria, adding that he has not bought one since he became President in 2015.
The president disclosed this during his meeting with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace, in the United Kingdom, according to BBC Hausa.
During a press conference after the meeting with the 73-year-old king, Buhari said the king asked him if he had a personal house in the UK to which he responded in the negative.
Buhari said the reason for his visit was to discuss the diplomatic and trade relations between the two countries.
He said that the meeting was hitherto scheduled to take place in Kigali before Charles became king.
This is the first meeting between President Buhari and the king since his ascension to the throne.
Buhari used the opportunity to congratulate the king on his ascension to the throne.
The president had on Wednesday visited the British monarch at Buckingham Palace.
The presidency also shared pictures of the monarch shaking hands with Buhari.
“The King welcomed the President of Nigeria to Buckingham Palace for an audience this afternoon,” Buckingham palace tweeted
