Aylah Bricks, 18, of Twiggs County, Georgia, has greatly succeeded in her academic career. She was the valedictorian and the most outstanding graduate at her high school.
Aylah’s success has earned her $4.5 million in scholarships from 113 universities and colleges nationwide.
Aylah also obtained a very selective Gates Scholarship and was one of the 300 recipients chosen from a pool of 34,000 applicants.
The scholarship covers a student’s full tuition and costs, including fees, books, room and board, and transportation.
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must rank in the top 10 per cent of their graduating class and demonstrate involvement in extracurricular and community service activities.
In addition to the Gates Scholarship, Aylah collected an impressive string of awards in her academic career; she was the valedictorian at her high school in the first, eighth, and twelfth grades, an achievement she proudly shared on her LinkedIn page.
It is clear that Aylah’s hard work, determination, and dedication to her studies have paid off, and she is undoubtedly a source of pride for Twiggs County.
“A 3-Time Valedictorian (1st Grade; 8th Grade; 12th Grade) AT Twiggs County High School,” she said.
Scholarships announcements like this, though populous, are inaccurate. The amount of the scholarship is limited to the amount of her expenses at school she chooses to attend. She can choose only one.
Congrats.
