Borno State House of Assembly member-elect Nuhu Clark is dead. He died at an Indian hospital in the early hours of yesterday.

The deceased was elected on March 18, 2023, to represent the Chibok constituency.

Confirming the development in Maiduguri, Commissioner for Information Babakura Abba Jatau said Clark had served in various capacities, including Commissioner for Youth and Poverty Alleviation.

“We’ll issue an official statement on the incident after I meet with the deceased’s family members in Chibok community,” he said.

The Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur, said Clark’s passing was a massive loss to the state government and Chibok community in the Borno South Senatorial District. He added, “Clark’s death is also a great loss to the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the deceased has contributed to the economic development and growth of the state.”

He, therefore, commiserated with the immediate family of the late politician.

“I prayed to God to give the family members the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” he beseeched. Clark was Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation before resigning on April 25, 2022, to vie for the Chibok constituency seat in this year’s governorship and legislative elections on the platform of APC.
