Hon Ismaila Yushau Maihanchi, a federal lawmaker elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is dead. He was aged 36.
Taraba Youth in the Diaspora wrote, “On a sad note, we announce the passing away of the member of the House of Representatives—Elect, Hon. Ismaila Yushau Mohammed (Maihanchi), who represented Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing. After a brief illness, may his soul RIP.”
In the last election, Maihanchi was elected to represent Jalingo, Yorro and Zing Federal Constituency in Taraba state.
The newly elected lawmaker died in the early hours of Saturday after a brief illness.
A source in the family hinted that his remains would be laid to rest according to Islamic rites later in the day.
Born in 1986, the graduate of Taraba State University served as Special Adviser to Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku.
