Prince Olawale Semiu Oyebola has been elected as the 30th Aseyin of Iseyin. The 55-year-old Aseyin-elect will succeed the Oba Salahudeen Abdul Ganiyy Adekunle Ajinese 1.
Oyebola was elected following the voting process by the 10 kingmakers on Tuesday, in Iseyin, the Oke Ogun Area of Oyo State.
REPORTERS AT LARGE recalls that the late Aseyin died in 2022 after an illness at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. He spent 15 years on the throne.
The Aseyin-elect works and resides in the United States of America with his family.
Earlier, Aseyin of Iseyin Palace was cordoned off by security operatives to allow the process to take place without any hindrance. The voting process commenced as planned by the officials of the Iseyin local government and others.
The outcome of the votes cast showed the majority voted in favour of Oyebola among the 12 aspirants jostling for the seat.
