In Imo State, gunmen have killed no less than eight security personnel, including soldiers, policemen, and members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The tragedy that occurred on Tuesday morning in the Umualumaku neighbourhood of the state’s Ehime Mbano Local Government Area has caused concern in the neighbourhood.
Two security trucks carrying the joint security task force team were attacked and set on fire by their assailants.
They were all burned alive inside their functional vehicles, therefore none of them survived.
Unnamed security personnel told our correspondent that reinforcement teams had been dispatched to the crime scene in order to apprehend the perpetrators and recover the bodies of the deceased security personnel.

According to him, the development had caused confusion in the neighbourhood.
The security officers were set ablaze in the two trucks while our journalist watched the attack on tape.
