He assured the University of Ibadan team that he would be key to fundraising efforts by leveraging his friends, colleagues, business associates, and family members.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, mni, FAS, had earlier told the legal practitioner that he was being recognised because he had distinguished himself in his private and public life and had contributed substantially to the national and global economy.

He noted that Mr Olatunji’s desire to promote the welfare of others, especially the less privileged is unparalleled.

According to the Vice Chancellor, Mr Olatunji has donated commendably generously to the University of Ibadan, the Faculty of Law, and its students in the past.

A few of his friends supported Mr Olatunji in receiving the honour. Those in attendance included Prince Dele Abolarin, Mr Victor Edet, Mr A. B. O. O. Oyediran (son of a former Vice-Chancellor of UI), and Dr Adesoji Taiwo, the President of the Ibadan Recreation Club.

The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Professor Ezekiel Olusola Ayoola; Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, Professor Oluyemisi A. Bamgbose, SAN; the University Librarian, Dr Mercy A. Iroaganachi; Chairman of UI@75 Anniversary Committee, Professor Peter Olapegba; Dean of Law, Professor Simisola O.
