Olamitoye Becomes UI’s Ambassador For 75th Founders Anniversary

On Tuesday, Professor Kayode Adebowale, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI), decorated Dr. Abib Olamitoye, chairman of Ibadan Central Hospitals and Academy Suites, as one of the UI Ambassadors for the institution’s 75th Founders Anniversary.

Adebowale performed the decoration on the 55th birthday of Engineer Dotun Sanusi, chairman of Ilaji Hotels and Resorts. He described Olamitoye as a great alumni of the University of Ibadan who has been projecting the university’s image positively through his contributions to society and humanity.

He observed that Olamitoye has continued to exhibit excellence synonymous with the University of Ibadan, saying the institution is proud of its exploits in the health and hospitality sectors.

Also speaking at the event, the newly decorated ambassador and founder of Ibadan Central Hospital, Dr Abib Olamitoye, described Sanusi as an epitome of humility and exemplary virtues, which have benefitted the socio-economic growth of Ibadan and Oyo State in general.

He charged other wealthy individuals to emulate Sanusi’s virtues by helping the needy through philanthropic gestures.

In his remark, the Oyo NUJ Chairman, Ademola Babalola, said Nigeria would have been a better place to live if many wealthy Nigerians could be like Sanusi, whose impact is felt by many people.

Olamitoye is a purpose-driven, self-motivated medical practitioner and business leader. He obtained his medical degree (MBBS) and master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Ibadan.

He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the following establishments.

  • Academy Suites & Resource Ltd, MKO Abiola Way, Abeokuta.

  • Abib Olamitoye Foundation.

He is also the:

  • Chairman, Governing Council of the Care People Foundation, Motherless Babies Home, Opposite Quarry, Lagos/Ibadan Express Road, Ibadan
  • Distinguished Alumni Award Winner of the Ibadan College of Medicine Alumni Association, 2010.
  • President, Ibadan College of Medicine Alumni Association, Worldwide, 2016-2019
  • Former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University of Ibadan Ventures Limited
  • Former Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Health
  • He is the founder and facilitator of 100/10 Academy, a Human Resource Outfit designed to raise 100 Billionaires every ten years, where he teaches Entrepreneurial Skills and Principles in Ibadan, Lagos and Abeokuta.
