2023 Press Week: Oyo NUJ Lauds Makinde, Arapaja, Adegoke, Alli, Sunday Dare, Isiguzo, Others

Against the backdrop of the recently concluded 2023 Press Week of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State chapter, the council’s leadership on Sunday commended Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and the Deputy National Chairman of the PDP (South), Alhaji Taofeek Arapaja.

The Council’s leadership also commended Chairman Solutions FM and Aare-Onibon Balogun of Ibadanland, Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, the national president of NUJ, Chief Chris Isiguzo, the former Minister of Youth and Sport, Chief Sunday Dare, a lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, and a host of others for their contributions to the success of the week.

It also appreciated the significant efforts of NUJ members in B Zone, led by its vice president, Comrade Ronke Afebioye Samo, guests, and awardees, for making the annual event a historic and indelible experience.

This is contained in a press statement signed by Mr. Akeem Abas, chairman of the Oyo NUJ 2023 Press Week planning committee, which was forwarded to journalists in Ibadan, the state capital.

The statement read: “We thank the Oyo State governor, Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde, the national president of NUJ, Chief Chris Isiguzo, Senator Sharafadeen Alli (Oyo South Senatorial District), members of our great union in B Zone, comprising of Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Osun, Lagos, and Ondo, NUJ executives led by Comrade Demola Babalola, all the awardees, guests, and a host of others that witnessed the weeklong activities.

Thank you once again for your continuous support, and we look forward to having the same level of support and collaboration in future endeavours, “the statement concluded.
