A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Engineer Oyedele Hakeem Alao, has expressed heartfelt sadness over the explosion that occurred in the Bodija area of Ibadan, the state capital, on Tuesday night.
Alao, in a statement by his Media Office, commiserated with the immediate families of those who lost their lives and other victims of the explosion, describing it as tragic and heartbreaking.
He also sympathised with Governor Seyi Makinde and Oba Lekan Balogun, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, over the ugly incident and wished those affected peace, comfort, and lots of love at this time of sorrow.
The Asiwaju of Irokoland urged relevant government agencies to collaborate to provide immediate relief to the victims and their families and called on the state government to thoroughly investigate the incident to prevent its recurrence.
He then prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the explosion, praying that God would grant the families the fortitude to bear the loss of their loved ones.
He said, “I am deeply saddened by the news of an explosion that occurred in Bodija, which claimed lives and left many injured.
“The death of a loved one is usually excruciating, but coming through such an incident made it more disheartening.
‘I sympathise with the immediate families of victims, those injured, Oba Lekan Balogun and Governor Makinde while wishing all of us peace, comfort, and lots of love at this time of sorrow.”
