US Embassy In Abuja Shuts Doors Amid Protests Fears

Following the country’s outcry over the high cost of living, Hon. Abayomi Christopher Odufuwa, Aare Akeweje of Makun Kingdom, has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the present administration. Economic hardships remain a global issue, and measures and policies are underway to address the situation.

During an interactive session with journalists on Thursday, Odufuwa disclosed this in Shagamu, Ogun State. The Tinubu-led administration has indicated plans to take proactive measures to tackle the high cost of living to honour his mandate on people’s welfare and well-being.

He says, “it is very important to note that the whole world is under economic pressure as developed countries are even readjusting their budgets to meet the demands. All governmental agencies are working tirelessly to address the issue, especially the place of the Naira in the foreign exchange market, which remains a cognitive point of attention, as the high exchange rate and inflation have seriously weakened all other aspects of our economy.

“This is the time that the billionaires in the country must equally take up leadership roles in their different capacities, as a matter of necessity, to give back to society in these critical times. I appeal to Nigerians, especially the youths, to be patient with the government and avoid the manipulation by political jobbers clamouring for nationwide protests or any other form of demonstration that can weaken the smooth running of the country.
