On Tuesday, gunmen attacked the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Ituku Ozalla, in Enugu State, Nigeria’s southeast.
According to reports, the attackers, who are suspected of kidnapping, seized a female director and a security officer from the site.
The hospital employees disclosed that the director was traced to the hospital’s grounds at 9 a.m. on Tuesday by gunmen who shot at her SUV.
One staff member, who requested anonymity because she was not permitted to discuss the situation publicly, described the abducted director as a nurse named Ngozi Mbah.
She questioned the lack of security personnel around the site, although it is a registered institution.
“We are still in fear,” she stated, promising to provide more information on the attack later.
A video of a Toyota SUV allegedly belonging to the abducted director has been circulating on social media.
In the 26-second video obtained by REPORTERS AT LARGE, someone remarked, “One of our nurses was stolen just now. This is her automobile. “
The video was shared on Facebook at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
Enugu State Police spokesperson Daniel Ndukwe said he had not yet been updated on the event.
