Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, popularly known as A.A. Rano is an inspiring story from grass to grace. He transformed from a Kano Village humble boy into a billionaire magnate, overseeing a conglomerate that includes 120 filling stations across Nigeria.

Born into an average family in Lausu, Kano State, the Kano-born billionaire started small, with an ice block and groundnut oil business and other local items.

But, today, the billionaire magnate has gone into building a multi-billion naira enterprise spanning various sectors of Nigeria’s economy. He owns A.A. Rano Oil & Gas industry in Nigeria with 56 ML Tank farm in Lagos, with 120 retail outlet/filling stations across Nigeria and over 600 trucks & LPG terminals as well as acquired vessel (M.T LAUSAU).

His ventures include RanoGaz, a state-of-the-art Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) terminal, a rice milling company, Rano Lubricant, Rano Air, Lausu Marine and Logistics, A.A. Rano Terminal, and A.A. Rano Road Haulage.

A.A. Rano Business Career

RANO Oil is one of the leading Oil & Gas industry in Nigeria with 60 million Tank farms in Lagos, with 120 Retail outlet/ Filling stations across Nigerian and over 600 trucks & LPG Terminals as well as acquired vessel (M.T LAUSAU) in the year 2014. The company also provides jetty services to other depot owners around its depot located at Ijegun-Egba as well as other services to oil marketers who find the state of the art facilities and safety systems at its depot very comforting and conducive for their operation. The company’s core business is the wholesale and retail of PMS, DPK, AGO, LPG.

RANO Air is one of the subsidiaries of the Rank industries, the Airline, founded in 2019,The airline have Secured approval to operate return flights domestically to from Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Kaduna, Sokoto, Gombe, Yola, Maiduguri, and Asaba.

RANO GAZ is one of the subsidiaries of AA industries. The company has strengthened its LPG business with the installation of fully automated modern and movable LPG filling plants and skids across the states and the federal capital territory.

Rano Rice Mills: Expanding its frontiers to augment government effort in area of food security, the AA Rano industries had established in 2021 a rice milling Company in Dawankin Kudi Local Government Area of Kano state with an annual production capacity of 60,000M7T.

Rano LPG is one of the subsidiaries of AA industries. The Company has strengthened its LPG business with the installation of fully automated modern and movable LPG filling plants and skids across the states and the federal capital territory.

RANO LUBRICANTS: This is another subsidiary of the A.A. Rano industries, which produce quality base oil, industrial oil, and engine oil, which are used in motor vehicles, trucks, motorcycles and tricycles, gasoline generators, and aero plane oil.

RANO DEPOT TERMINAL: was licensed in April 2014. The bounded White Petroleum products terminal is designed to receive vessels, store products and dis- tribute via trucking across the Nigeria states The company also provides jetty services to other depot owners around its depot located at Ijegun-Egba as well as other services to oil marketers who find the state of the art facilities and safety systems at its depot very comforting and conducive for their operation.

Philanthropy

The billionaire magnate established the A.A. Rano Foundation is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation. The foundation carries out community development projects in areas such as health, education, water provision, and empowerment initiatives for youth and women.

Recognition

The Nigerian government awarded him the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON). In 2021, he received the title of The Sun Industrialist of the Year
