5th Year In Office: Group Highlights Odidiomo’s Achievements

The Marines (One Agenda), a political organization within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, has congratulated Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide (Odidiomo), celebrating the one-year in office as a two-term federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West federal constituency at the National Assembly.

The group, led by the duo of Teslim Okunaade from Ibadan Northwest local government And Ibrahim Azeez of Ibadan Southwest local government, said this known in a joint statement signed on behalf of other members of the group.

While acknowledging the lawmaker’s dedication and hard work in serving his constituents, the group described Hon. Olajide, as a man of impeccable character and a champion of the masses, who within five years in the House of Representatives, has many laudable achievements, bills, and motions to his credit.

They said, as a committed and dedicated lawmaker, Odidiomo has served as the Chairman of the Committee on Digital and Information Technology and member of several other committees, including Agriculture, Basic Education, Constitutional Review, National Security and Intelligence, among others.

They highlighted some of his numerous motions and bills to include, including the bill for an act to provide a framework for the appointment of staff of the office of the National Security Adviser, and the motion on the need to investigate the untold hardship faced by Nigerian pilgrims at the recently concluded 2023 Hajj, which he described as testimonies to his commitment to the welfare of his constituents and the nation at large.

They noted that Hon. Olajide’s humanitarian gestures have been felt across the constituency, with various ICT-related projects, educational support, healthcare services, empowerment programmes, and financial assistance to numerous individuals and organizations.

They listed some of his achievements in the last one year to include:

– Supply and installation of complete solar-powered ICT centres at Basorun Ogunmola High School, Ring Road, Ibadan, and Adifase High School, Apata, Ibadan

– Construction and equipping ICT Hub at Oke-Bola Comprehensive High School, Oke Bola, Ibadan

– Sponsorship of 5 members of his constituents to a 3-day training on the fundamentals of Data Protection/Data Processing organized by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

– Digital Skills training for 50 artisans in Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency by NITDA

– Registration of 1000 constituents for ICT Training on Digital Literacy, Data Protection, Cyber-security, and Introduction to AI

– Supply of 5 Desktop Computers (All-in-One) and 2 units of Blue Gate UPS to Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (IAR&T), Moor Plantation, Apata, Ibadan.

– Provision of 200 Jamb forms to pupils in Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency

– Payment of school fees for various constituents

– Provision of free medical care to constituents in some private medical facilities within the constituency

– Footing of several medical bills of constituents

– Distribution of Keke Napep and Okada to constituents in commemoration of Democracy Day

– Cash contribution to various iftar, sahur, and Ramadan Lectures organized by different religious groups in Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency

– Sponsorship of 10 constituents for the 2024 Moslem Pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia

The group stated further in the statement that they are exceedingly proud of Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide’s (Odidiomo’s) numerous achievements and pray that God continues to guide and strengthen him, grant him wisdom, courage, and grace as he continues to serve humanity with dedication and passion in his commitment to the welfare of his constituents and the nation at large.
