The Kaaro Oojiire Omo Oodua Foundation (KAF) has condemned the recent video released by Okikiola Badmus, also known as Portable. The video “contains malicious and defamatory statements against his girlfriend, Queen Dammy, the estranged wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi Ill.”
In a released statement, the KOOF Chairman, Asiwaju Olú Mayungbe, said that “Portable’s claims in the video are not only frivolous, egregious, and preposterous, but also damaging to Yoruba anthropology and culture.”
The Foundation regarded his words in the video as profanities, adding: “His statements have brought disrespect to the highly revered late Yoruba Royal Father and his family.”
The Foundation demanded “an unreserved apology to the Yoruba people, monarchs, Alaafin’s chiefs, the Oyomesis, and family members on all social media platforms and newspapers.”
The Foundation also demanded the withdrawal of the defamatory video from all of Portable’s social networks.
Saying that Portable’s video has the potential to cause unrest in Nigeria, particularly in the South West, the Foundation warned Portable that failure to comply with these demands would lead to asking the Yoruba to boycott his plays and shows, both at home and in the diaspora.
