The 65th Founder’s Day Anniversary of Ibadan Christ Apostolic Grammar School (ICAGS) came to a close on Saturday February 1, 2025 with a grand finale held at the Alumni Center, University of Ibadan.
At the very impressive and well-attended ceremony, the President of the Ibadan Christ Apostolic Grammar School Old Students Association, Dr. Morohunkola Thomas congratulated members on the milestone anniversary, paying tribute to past and present principals and teachers for their sacrifices.
He also appreciated old boys for their support and urged them to continue contributing to the growth of the association and their alma mater.
Mr. Femi Oke, Chairman of the Planning Committee, expressed gratitude to members who donated towards the remodelled gate and the organization of the anniversary.
Awards were presented to notable personalities, including Chief Dr. Sanusi, Professor Adeoye, and Dr. Rasheed Lawal, in recognition of their contributions to their fields and alma mater. Dr. Mrs. Omotayo Fadeyi, a former English and Literature teacher, received an award for her impact on students‘ lives. Posthumous humous awards were given to late Pastor Ayo Ogunranti and Dr. Sesan Ajayi for their contributions and impact.
Other distinguished awardees included: Chief Ademola Adelakun, AIG Sikiru Kayode Akande, Dr. Sir Kehinde Oladeji, Chief Olawore Adeagbo, and Mr. Nureni Jimoh.
The event was a testament to the enduring spirit of ICAGS and the strong bonds of friendship and camaraderie that exist among its alumni.
The event also featured the launch of the Anniversary Brochure, tagged “The Upland Hunter.”
The event was filled with pomp, pageantry, and colorful moments as old mates reunited and relived fond memories. The atmosphere was electrified with excitement and joy palpable throughout the ceremony.
Earlier on Friday, January 31st, the ultra modern school gate christened “Oba Sir Isaac Babalola Akinyele Memorial Gate” was formally commissioned with the desks and chairs presented by the I994 Set to the School.
