The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology and Cybersecurity, Hon. Adedeji Stanley Dhikrullahi Olajide, has facilitated the establishment of a state-of-the-art digital e-learning centre at People’s Girls Grammar School, Molete, Ibadan.
The project, part of his constituency intervention initiative, aims to equip students with essential digital skills and ensure competitiveness in today’s technology-driven world.
The all-girls school, founded in 1944 by the late Iyalode of Ibadan, Chief Wuraola Adepeju Esan, has produced thousands of successful women in various fields. This newest initiative, integrating technological innovation into learning, is expected to enhance academic excellence further.
Hon. Adedeji Olajide, speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, reiterated his commitment to promoting ICT education within the constituency.
“The world is moving quickly, and technology is at the heart of everything. Our students must not be left behind.”
Olajide, a PDP lawmaker who represents Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency of Oyo State at the national assembly, also noted that the centre would bridge the digital divide and position students to compete favourably with their peers in an era of rapid technological advancement.
This digital e-learning centre will provide them with the tools they need to acquire digital literacy, coding skills and other ICT-related knowledge that will prepare them for future opportunities,” he said.
The facility, which will be fully equipped with modern computers, high-speed internet, interactive learning software, and other digital resources, will also serve as a hub for e-learning, research, and technological innovation. It is expected to support teachers in integrating ICT into their teaching methodologies, improving overall learning outcomes.
